Developing country support and pre-conference workshop
A limited number of early and mid-career scientists from developing countries involved in forest and tree-related research will be invited to participate in a pre-conference training workshop (Aug 22 – 24) at Faculty of Forest Sciences, SLU, Umeå.
The workshop, arranged by IUFRO Special Programme Developing Countries (SPDC), will offer training in best practices on how to work effectively at the interface of forest science and forest policy for the adaptation of forests and forest management to climate change. The costs for travelling, lodging, and conference registration, will be covered by the conference organizers.
Active participation in the 2008 Adaptation Conference (by submitting an abstract for oral or poster presentation) is a pre-requisite for an invitation to attend the workshop since the invitations will be based on a selection of received abstracts.
